BMX Racing Is Back at Oldsmar Sports Complex -State Race and Gator Nationals This Month
October is a big month at the Oldsmar BMX Supercross Track, and if you have never watched live BMX racing, this is the month to change that.
Two major events are coming back to 3120 Tampa Road over back-to-back weekends, and both are free to attend.
BMX Florida State Race - October 16, 17 & 18
The Florida State Championship Series kicks off the stretch with a three-day race weekend at Oldsmar Sports Complex. Competitors from across Florida come to chase state series points on one of the most technically demanding tracks in the country. The 5-meter and 8-meter starting hills separate this facility from almost anything else in the Southeast, and the racing reflects that. Expect fast motos, tight competition across age groups from young kids through adults, and a track atmosphere that is louder and more electric than most people expect.
Free to attend
Parking: $10 per day or $25 for the full three days
Location: Oldsmar Sports Complex BMX Supercross Track - 3120 Tampa Road, Oldsmar, FL 34677
USA BMX Gator Nationals - October 23, 24 & 25
The following weekend, the stakes get significantly higher. The Gator Nationals is a stop on the USA BMX National Pro Series - the top level of competitive BMX racing in the country. Elite professional riders, serious amateur competitors, and thousands of spectators make this one of the biggest sports events Oldsmar hosts all year. Hotels in the area fill up, restaurants on Tampa Road see a real bump, and the track draws crowds that remind you how much national-level attention this little city quietly commands.
Past Gator Nationals weekends have brought over 5,000 spectators to Oldsmar and generated an estimated $525,000 in economic impact in a single weekend. A full national event can push that number significantly higher.

Worth Showing Up For
You do not need to know anything about BMX to enjoy watching it. The starts alone - riders launching off an 8-meter hill at full speed - are worth the trip. Bring kids, bring neighbors, and plan to stay longer than you think you will.
